This workshop is designed to teach a novice or experienced hunter how to plan,
coordinate and run safe educational youth hunts. The program requires a rigorous
weekend consisting of approximately 30 hours of training between Friday night and
early Sunday afternoon. It teaches the underlying principles of TYHP as well as it's
rules and policies. It provides the basics on how to:
-
review/utilize/practice
Hunter Education
-
operate various
firearm ranges
-
plan the necessary
components of a hunt
-
handle public
relations
-
administer first aid
-
provide the necessary
logistical support for a hunt
-
and much more
We encourage all volunteers from cooks to the huntmasters to complete a workshop
so they can better serve the program. It is a long, fun educational weekend which will
contribute to preserving our hunting heritage.
